At Venus Medicine Research Centre, we are pioneering the use of Organ-on-a-Chip technology to advance drug research and development with a focus on improving patient care and reducing reliance on animal testing. Our lab, the first of its kind in India, uses this innovative technology to gain deeper insights into how drugs affect human organs and to better understand complex physiological processes.

Currently, we are implementing a kidney-in-a-chip model, which will revolutionize how we screen for drug toxicity and study kidney damage. This model enables us to observe how drugs impact kidney function and to explore the underlying mechanisms of kidney damage, which is crucial for developing safer and more effective treatments.

Looking ahead, Venus plans to expand its use of Organ-on-a-Chip technology by developing additional organ models and creating interconnected systems that simulate multiple organs working together. This approach will provide a more comprehensive view of how different organs interact and respond to treatments. By developing these advanced models, we aim to enhance the accuracy of drug testing, improve our understanding of human physiology, and drive innovation in drug development.
